Project Description
The Mermaid Waters/ Broadbeach Community Library is one of a kind. Nestled under an avenue of large fig trees, the buildings bright endwall and open facade, designed by Fulton Trotter Architects, emphasises its landmark status. The Architect and Landscape Architect worked closely to develop a consistent theme which integrated the built form and landscape elements. Colourful and layered plantings, custom designed mass concrete seats and combinations of porphyrystone and exposed aggregate pavement panels make an interesting yet comfortable entrance to the library. This project received a ‘Project Award’ at the Gold Coast Urban Design Awards.
