Wollongbar District Parklands has been a project of passion for Design Team Ink for a number of years and it has finally been built by Ballina Shire Council and contractor Greenwood Landscapes. The parkland contains something for everyone: a skate park, junior play area, senior exercise equipment area, half court basketball, table tennis, small big scrub arboretums, a running track and lots of picnic facilities to support community use. Artists Tim Fry and Jeremy Austin collaborated with students from Alstonville High School to create some pole carvings inspired by the Big Scrub and a funky painting on the table tennis table inspired by the former drive-in.
